I'm Third Enterprises was founded by Darryl L. Johnson, whose experience in ministry, mentoring, education, youth development, and organizational leadership has shaped its philosophy and approach.
Minister Darryl L. Johnson was called to the ministry, December 9, 1990, under the tutelage of Reverend Forest Hancock, Sr., founder of Freewill Missionary Baptist Church of San Diego.
His interest in intentional human development began taking shape in 1996, following an unexpected introduction to M. Scott Peck's The Road Less Traveled. Over the following decades, that interest developed through parenting, ministry, educational initiatives, and community work.
In November 2019, he assumed leadership of Mentor2Youth, where his work with young people and families further reinforced the importance of developmental relationships and supportive environments.
Today, his work brings these experiences together through I'm Third Enterprises, Raising Royalty, Thy Kingdom Come, and the development of practical services and organizational systems.
His continuing commitment is to help people recognize their capacity for growth and develop the understanding, character, and relationships needed to live more meaningful lives.
In 2023, Darryl was the inaugural recipient of the Ronald C. Woods Equity Justice Warrior Award, presented by Washtenaw My Brother’s Keeper. That same year, he received a Special Citation from the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office.
Above all, Darryl identifies as a servant-leader and lifelong learner, committed to helping people become who they were created to be—and “Putting the Neighbor Back in the Hood.”
